Biography

The daughter of an art teacher, Patricia Rockwood has created original works throughout her life. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing and Art from the College of Wooster, Ohio, where she specialized in drawing. She lived in Cleveland after graduation until a move to Florida in 1986, where she currently resides.

She is a self-taught mosaic artist, and her portfolio includes both public and private commissions as well as fine art pieces. She also works in various water media including acrylic and watercolor. Her currnet focus is large-scale acrylic works on canvas.

Patricia Rockwood currently teaches several mosaic art classes at the Suncoast Technical College in the Adult & Community Enrichment (ACE) program in Sarasota. She shows her work  in Florida at the Baobab Gallery in The Village of the Arts, Bradenton and the Venice Art Center, Venice as well as in the Art & Soul Artisan Gallery in Blairsville, Georgia. She regularly exhibits in both group and solo shows throughout the area.
